Aspen Science Center

Support science and STEM education today!

Science and STEM education are more critical today than ever, which is why Aspen Science Center is pursuing our mission to advance public understanding of science through lifelong discovery, exploration and education. While much of our programming is geared towards youth, we also have programs for adults.

Your gift will enable us to reach increasingly more youth, adults, and families in the Roaring Fork Valley with memorable, hands-on science and engineering programs.

Why is our mission so critical? Did you know:

  • Only 16 percent of high school seniors pursue STEM majors in college.
  • Of those, only 26 percent actually go into STEM jobs.
  • U.S. students currently rank 38th out of 71 developed countries in math achievement and 24th in science.
  • Women hold 48 percent of the jobs in the U.S., but only 24 percent of the STEM jobs. Minority students are likewise underrepresented.
  • The number of U.S. citizens and permanent residents earning graduate degrees in science and engineering fell 5 percent in 2014 from its peak in 2008,  while the number of students on temporary visas earning the same degrees soared by 35 percent.

Instead of a one-time donation, consider a recurring donation to Aspen Science Center. For the price of one cup of coffee or one lunch per month, you can make a difference for science!
